Can I Volunteer for the Church?
The Deer Park UMC gracefully accepts all who want to serve! Whether it be within the church for its ministries, or as a volunteer for one of our community events, all are welcome! We all have remarkable talents and why not share it to better our neighbor’s life? If you are interested in volunteering, consider attending one or monthly Church Council meetings (conducted on the third Sunday of each month, at noon) to determine if you like what you see. If so, we will match your talent with a need.
Can I Be a Member of This Church?
Absolutely! To be a United Methodist is to be a member of a global Christian denomination that emphasizes faith, community, and social action. As United Methodists, we believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ and strive to put our faith into practice – actions matter. If you are interested in membership in the Deer Park UMC fellowship, please call 509.276.2570 or reach out to the pastor in order to get that conversation started!
Attendance with us on Sunday mornings is different than membership. We welcome one and all with open arms and open hearts! We are a very loving and authentic church, full of grace and mercy. We would love to welcome you into our fellowship no matter your state of belief, and whether or not you feel worthy of God’s love and salvation. Just like it would be silly to cut your hair before going to the barbershop, please don’t wait until you feel “spiritual enough” or “worthy enough” before visiting us! Come as you are! You will quickly see that we are each humans doing our best to love and serve God and each other. We value all and welcome you to our house of worship!
Regardless of your decision (whether you are a member of another church and wish to continue, are interested in becoming a member for the first time, or simply want to attend and enjoy the love and fellowship that we offer, we encourage you to visit our fellowship and to prayerfully seek God’s will for you!
